8.3. Profile Management

A logged-in user has got options to view and manage his profiles. 

 

View Profile

On selecting My Profile option the screen shown is 

 

 

A link to edit his profile will be available.

If selected user is not an administrator then the under mentioned details would be limited to the projects he is member of

Edit Profile

If a logged-in user has opted to edit his profile, then he will be redirected to the form used to update his profile information. 

 

User can change his

If Subscribe to all emails generated for various activities is selected then the user will also receive notifications on all major activities performed within the application through email.

 

If issue manager has been configured for the application, then a link to associate his profile to the issue manager account will be shown.

Linking Profile with an Issue Manager

This link will enable the new issues to be created on user's behalf. In absence of this setting the issues will be created using the default account set as reporter by the administrator

 

If user opts to link his issue manager's account with his profile, a separate form will be provided to let the user enter his credentials for the issue manager. The credentials can be an API key for that user revealed by issue manager or the username and password used by user to access the issue manager. The entry fields will depend on the issue manager being used, because bug trackers like JIRA and Fogbugz do not provide API key.

 

 

 

Please note - TestCollab does not validate the access credentials entered by user at this stage, unlike as done at the time of issue manager integration. If the credentials are incorrect then the bugs will not be reported in the name of the selected user.

The process of linking a user account with the integrated issue manager can also be performed by application's administrator(s).
